In light of my posts about productivity, follow-through, and consistency, I figured this would be an appropriate segue for an “ask the readers” post. I’ve been following many of you, especially those of you with ADHD such as myself, and observing how you stay focused. Being a fellow ADHDer, I’ve tried many of the things that you have, such as medication, behavioral therapy, various vitamins, nootropics, superfoods, meditation, binaural beats, brain exercises, and productivity systems. Many of these address only specific symptoms and some do wonders. I know personally that if I need help staying focused on a task, the biggest factors for me are medication, sleep, blood sugar, and my ability to remain free of distraction using various web tools and/or binaural/ambient beats. Of course, that varies slightly depending on the task.
That being said, I’d like to know what works for you.
How do you stay focused with ADHD?
In your comment, please explain the various tools and methods that work for you, and what ultimately helps you the most. If you’re a parent of a child with ADHD, what works best for them? Look forward to hearing from you!
